Standard size is ample enough probably to hold the bulkiest standard sized pillow. Keeps my husband's sweaty head from stinking up the pillow. Recommended to wash on low speed cycle or hand wash and air dry. I washed on handwash cycle, tumbled on low for a few minutes then hang and they came out fresh and not wrinkly at all. My husband really likes how it makes his old lumpy pillow seems fluffier (guess it's the air it traps in), and his head stays dryer and cooler.
