The terry cloth on top is actually soft and pleasant enough to rest on. The protector doesn't make plastic cracking sounds and feels very high quality. All in all I'm pretty satisfied. The only problem is that the protected side is only the top of the mattress and not the sides. We bought it to protect the new mattress we bought from our pet's who sometimes sleep on the bed. We have a memory foam mattress (which tends to trap heat already) so the addition of the protector has ramped that up a bit. I haven't had trouble with it, but my husband as complained a few times of getting over heated since we put the protector on the bed. It's smooth, it doesn't feel like plastic or anything which is great. The product had a slight smell when taken from the packaging. After washing and air-drying, the odor was completely gone. It fits the mattress with room to spare. Therefore, if you have a deep mattress it should fit very well. It is lightweight yet durable, with a terry cloth covering over the actual waterproof shield. The terry cloth makes it very comfortable and "breathable" under the sheet. The attached fabric that tucks around the sides and bottom of the mattress has elastic, keeping it firmly in place even if you move around in bed a lot. I am very pleased with this purchase and thrilled that it is U.S.A. made! |
